Riso Midwest Catalog
Milwaukee's first edition is here. With the help of Anemone, BearBear's Riso Midwest Convening crew who met in person at the Ruth Arts space earlier this year, plus dozens of contributors, the "Riso Midwest Catalog" was born just ahead of corn harvest season. This publication follows in the footsteps of "Riso West Coast" with the aim of expanding riso connectivity, exposure, and culture across the US (and beyond!) through a classic community-fueled directory format.
Riso Midwest Catalog is a printed booklet featuring a list of printshops, community spaces, publishers, artists & writers working with riso, events, zine libraries and shops.
Submit here to be included in future editions!
BearBear helped spearhead the production of "Riso Midwest Catalog" in 2025 and published a Milwaukee Edition for purchase ($8 suggested retail). The first run was approximately 225 copies, printed on Buff and Canary paper in Blue and Fluorescent Red riso inks. A special mini-guide to Milwaukee centerfold was included. Other print shops in the Midwest, with permission, are printing their own city/regional/local versions featuring unique add-ins or tweaks for personalized flavor. Don't know about you, but we're looking forward to collecting them all :-)
